Manual Chrome OS Update

On the Affected Chromebook:

  • Sign in: The user needs to sign in to the Chromebook.
  • Open Settings: Click on the time in the bottom right corner of the screen, then click the gear icon to open Settings.
  • About Chrome OS: In the left-hand menu, click on "About Chrome OS".
  • Check for updates: Click the "Check for updates" button.

What happens next:

  • Up-to-date: If the Chromebook is already on the latest version, it will say "Your Chromebook is up to date."
  • Update available: If an update is available, the Chromebook will start downloading it.
  • Restart: Once the download is complete, you'll see a "Restart" button. Click it to restart the Chromebook and install the update.
